Alcance is Spanish for "Reach". Our desire is to reach out to kids, youth and communities in order to develop better living conditions. Currently we offer one program called Segundo Paso (Next Step), but in the future we hope to expand to do much more. Here are some of the programs we will be opening in the future:
The Scholarship Fund will provide kids in need with the resources necessary to secure an education.
The Clean Living Project is designed to clean up communities through a variety of different plans such as providing clean water, building parks for communities, fixing up housing for different families, and offering classes on effective hygiene to people in need.
Vocational schools will offer mechanics training, carpentry training, cooking classes and much more to people in order to give them the opportunity to get a job.
Family First Campaign will offer classes on parenting and classes on how to succeed in marriage to the families in various communities.
Segundo Paso is Spanish for "Next Step". Unfortunately, there are many kids and youth in Nicaragua who are at-risk for abuse and other forms of mistreatment while their main caregiver is at work. Not all children such as these need to be completely removed from their home in order to be restored. Segundo Paso exists for children such as these.
Segundo Paso is an after-school style prevention program where at-risk kids can come to a safe location and receive reinforcement for their education. We provide tutoring, devotionals, music lessons, computer lessons, a healthy snack, and a time of recreation. In addition, the Refuge Project's psychologist helps us evaluate the children to further identify situations of abuse. Through Segundo Paso we're able provide the next step in the restoration process for kids who come to our Niņos de Vida programs.
